What’s New in Backyard Wooden Playsets for 2020?

Playsets have evolved over the years, but many things at Backyard Adventures have stayed the same. Backyard Adventures started over 30 years ago with a little family of eight, or maybe I should say big family of eight. Mom and dad wanted to keep their six kids busy playing outside, so dad built a playset for them. It was a fun playset that caught the attention of neighbors and friends who also wanted a playset for their family. Not long after, Backyard Adventures was born.

Backyard Adventures has always focused on excellent quality and great value because we care about your family. Through the years we have added innovation and technology to the equation to create the ultimate experience for you and the ultimate playset for your kids.

Even though not much has changed in the excellent quality of Backyard Adventures playsets, we have recently launched some exciting new features. We are proud to introduce the Hybrid playset! A hybrid playset combines the proven value of a square base design with the unique style of an angled base design. Hence, you get the best features of both traditional playset styles in one.

Square base playsets are perfect for lower playhouses, picnic tables, or sandboxes, while angled base designs always include the popular tire swivel swing. This combination of two playsets in one is an industry first and has quickly become our most popular playset!

We are always innovating new ways to simplify and speed up installation. Backyard Adventures playsets come with pre-assembled wall panels, roof panels, and floor panels. Most connection points have pre-drilled holes eliminating virtually all measuring during installation. These innovative features and more mean less time for assembly and more time for fun!

For years most wooden playsets were stained with a reddish-brown stain color. This time we switched it up with our Summit/Outlook series by staining it a two-toned stain. It is a beautiful fresh look with a light brown stain on uprights, walls, and swing beams, and a dark mahogany stain on the roofs and doors. The look is modern and will enhance any backyard landscape.
